NZ Certificate in Project Management (Level 4) Graduate.

Current Role: Planned Care Manager (Operational Strategic Management)

I’ve always believed in the value of professional development, and after previously studying with BMP, I knew I’d be in good hands when I enrolled in the Project Management course.

I’d completed the Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) earlier and had such a positive experience that coming back for another course felt like the natural next step.

In my current role, I found myself lacking some of the tools and confidence I needed to manage projects effectively. I wanted to build my leadership skills, feel more assured in my position, and better support my team. This course gave me all of that and more. It didn’t just fill knowledge gaps—it empowered me to take a step back, communicate more thoughtfully, and manage in a way that feels more aligned with who I am.

The content was clear, practical, and very relatable—especially with the inclusion of New Zealand-based case studies. The modules were easy to navigate and never felt overwhelming, which made it perfect to balance around my work. I really appreciated how the platform let me go at my own pace while also keeping me accountable. The resources were useful, and I still refer back to some of them now.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning that it’s okay to pause, delegate, and refocus. As a manager, I used to feel like I had to take everything on myself, but this course helped me understand that strong leadership in projects comes from ustilising the expertise in the team and building respectful relationships. It’s also made me more aware of different leadership styles and how to adapt my approach to support others more effectively.

The tutor support was incredible—quick to respond, genuinely helpful, and always encouraging. I never felt judged for asking questions, and the feedback I received was constructive and kind. It really helped build my confidence throughout the course.

Since finishing the programme, I’ve seen real growth in my approach when asked to undertake new activity, having the confidence to . I’m more effective in my day-to-day work, more confident in making decisions, and building stronger relationships within my team. I’ve already recommended this course to others—two of my team members are currently enrolled!

For anyone on the fence about enrolling, I’d say this: just give it a go. You don’t have to be “academic” to succeed—what matters is your willingness to grow. With the right support, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. My experience with BMP has been supportive, encouraging, and genuinely transformative.
