Will I have to sit exams?2019-02-28T11:50:41+12:00

No – each course will have assessments you need to complete during your studies but there are no exams.

When will my Qualification show up on my NZQA Record of Learning?2026-05-07T19:17:14+12:00

Upon completing your qualification, your final grades are confirmed and then entered against your NZQA R.O.L within a month of your programme end date.

What do you mean when you say assessments?2026-05-07T19:19:15+12:00

There are different form of assessment such as presentation, reports, online quizzes, discussions etc. These will all be based on case studies or your own organization or business.

I don’t have my Residency yet, but I’ve got a Work Visa, can I still apply?2019-02-28T11:53:29+12:00

No, sorry – you need to be either NZ/Aust Citizen, or have NZ/Aust Residency to be considered a domestic student.  If you’re on a work visa, you’re classed as an international student, and we’re not approved to enrol international students on the course.

What if I don’t pass an assessment the first time?2019-02-28T11:52:41+12:00

You will get opportunities to resubmit your assessments if they’re not quite right the first time. If you don’t pass a course you will need to re-enrol for that course.

Will I need to have access to a computer or the internet?2019-02-28T11:53:04+12:00

Yes – our courses are all taught fully online so you will need a computer and regular access to the internet to be able to participate in the course and complete the necessary assessments.

Can I take longer to complete my course than the dates given?2019-02-28T11:49:15+12:00

The government subsidy that pays for the course fee is based on your completing within the maximum timeframe you’ve been given. There’s a bit of flexibility, but only by a couple of weeks.

How much time do I need to spend on my study each week?2019-02-28T11:50:00+12:00

The understanding is that full time study should be between 35-40 hours a week and for part time 15-20 hours per week.

Are student loans and allowances available?2026-05-12T12:10:26+12:00

For students studying full time all course are eligible for Student Allowance, apart from Introduction to Team leadership Level 3.

Do you accept international applications?2026-05-12T12:04:34+12:00

Unfortunately, no, we do not accept international students. We can only accept New Zealand citizens, residents, or permanent residents as well as Citizens/residents of Australia. All applicants must be residing in New Zealand for the duration of their studies.

Before starting the actual course, there is time to look around Canvas. Guided activities will help with this process.

I’ve never done online learning before and I worry it’s a bit lonely. Can I talk with other students or tutors?2026-05-07T19:21:10+12:00

Yes! There are several ways in which this can be done including the discussion boards and speaking with a tutor on the phone or arranging a Teams call. Canvas also has a built-in inbox for messaging which gives you a direct link to both your tutor and our Student Support Team.

Can I work full-time and study as well?2019-02-28T11:42:06+12:00

Generally we don’t recommend it however for some students the work, study and life balance can be managed for a period of time. It is also relative to how experienced you are with study and what support you have at home and work. If you are considering this we recommend you give us a call.

You’ll need a good knowledge of computer and internet use. This way you’ll make best use of the online learning tools and resources available.

What sort of computer set up do I need to have at home?2026-05-07T19:25:39+12:00

You will need access to the following in order to study with BMP:

  • A personal computer or laptop
  • Microsoft Word or equivalent – a free student version of Office 365 will be provided for the duration of your studies
  • Broadband internet access

In some programmes you may be required to undertake video recordings for your assessments. The software for this is free, but you will need a webcam if you do not already have one built in to your computer.

You will be enrolled in the first three core courses to begin with. Upon successful completion, the remaining strand specific courses will appear on your dashboard according to the programme schedule.

The New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) is NZQA approved and is worth 120 credits. Depending on the specialty you chose, one of the following options will appear on your NZQA record of achievement,  Leadership & Management, Human Resource Management or Project Management.
